About the duo:
A chance meeting brought Elya Craig (CA) and Sven Sauber (LUX) together as they each performed their original songs at a Grund Club Songwriters open mic event. They immediately took a liking to each other's work, feeling a strong musical kinship that has guided their songwriting adventures ever since. The words and music have continued to pour out, a heartfelt reflection on their own lives - of love and friendship, loss and hope, and all the in-betweens - highlighted by the harmony of their voices and instruments. Inspired by an intention of dispensing with the ever-present notions of perfection in music and performance, the duo dubbed themselves “just about” - as in almost, not quite, a work in progress - feeling that the sharing of music was and is more important than the fear of imperfection.
The duo's first concert took place in March 2023 in the packed Brasserie um Tennis, where they received warm feedback for their heartfelt songs and beautiful harmonies. This was followed by concerts and music festival performances throughout Luxembourg.
In November 2023, they headed to the recording studio to begin work on their debut album. Entitled better weather day and consisting of 12 original tracks, the production is supported by Pol Belardi on piano, Sebastian "Schlapbe" Flach on double bass, as well as a string section from the FAME'S Skopje Studio Orchestra. The music is strongly influenced by acoustic folk, hearkening back to the style of CSN and James Taylor, with elements of modern indie folk.
Just About - a musical duo can perform in a variety of constellations ranging from acoustic duo to full line-up, with the option of adding a string quartet. This affords the project the flexibility to cater to a wide variety of performance conditions.
Their debut album was presented to the public on the 20th of October 2024 at the opderschmelz in Dudelange, an evening dedicated to celebrating the beauty in life, and sharing the music that means so much.
